Palestinian activist Basel Adra has been resisting the displacement of his people in the West Bank’s Masafer Yatta since he was a teenager. In this documentary spanning 2019 to 2023, Basel teams up with Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham to document the escalating assault on his home village, as the Israeli army bulldozes buildings, cuts off water supplies, and arrests civilians. Basel and Yuval are united in their defense of Masafer Yatta, but it is impossible to ignore how different their lives are; Israeli Yuval can travel freely while Palestinian Basel is confined to a territory being destroyed. The film takes the viewer not only into the thick of infuriating violence, but lingers in the equally heartbreaking moments afterwards and in between. What do you do after your home has been flattened?
